Abstract

Starting from the idea that basically the application of the drama method in educational work is the conceptual metaphor UNDERSTANDING IS SEEING (Lakoff and Johnson, 1980: 103, Klikovac, 2004: 52), in this paper we bring the results of a survey conducted in December 2014 at the Preschool Teacher Training College "Mihailo Palov" in Vrsac with the aim of discovering the main concept of dramatic method among students, future teachers. The general conclusion we have come to is to intensify the training of teachers, especially secondary schools, about the creative drama process as a way of learning through creative dramatic experience, since most of the students surveyed do not understand the drama method as unknown, unexplored space, that is, students do not understand what a dramatic method is. On the other hand, the results showed that there has been a change in this ruling concept among students who have passed a two-month training on the application of the drama method in working with children of preschool age through the project "Connecting important subjects in the field of drama and education in Serbia – THE ISLANDS", organized by BAZAART in 2014.
